I'm in Canada!

Yahoo! I'm in Canada! It's a bit chilly, but I'm happy to be here. The flight over here was so long. First I flew to San Francisco, and then I flew to Calgary. There was so much turbulence on the flight to San Francisco that I thought I was going to die two or three times, but I survived!

Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer

Hi Everyone! There is only one more day of school left before the holidays! Yahoo! Don't forget you can write to Santa Claus if you like. Here is his address:

Santa Claus
North Pole
H0H 0H0
Canada

Don't forget to include your name and your return address (at the top right hand corner of your letter) so that Santa can write back to you (sometimes Mrs. Claus writes because Santa is too busy).

Here are more details (click on the TV to watch a cartoon):

Ribs!

Yahoo!! There are only six more school days until our winter holiday. I can’t wait!! I am going to Canada for 10 days, and it will be really nice to see my family again.

I had a really nice weekend this past weekend. Actually, most of the weekend, I had to work and do marking and stuff like that, but on Sunday night I went to a really amazing restaurant near Universal Studios Japan. The restaurant was called “Chicago Ribs”. Holy cow, did we ever eat a lot of food! I went with three friends, and we ordered the party plate. There were four different kinds of ribs, plus chicken wings, shrimp, chicken legs, corn on the cob and more chicken – all covered with a thick red barbecue sauce. It was really amazing. We also had a fried onion kind of thing, corn bread and a huge salad. After eating all that food, I could barely move, but we still went to another place for dessert afterwards. We ate cinnamon buns. Has anyone ever tried those? They are so amazing!

Anyway, I think I better start jogging again! I’m starting to gain a lot of weight!

Peace and Love!

The Test is Over!!

Yahoo! My Japanese proficiency test was on Sunday! It's over! I hope I passed. I was really nervous during the test, and it was hard for me to concentrate. The test was made up of three parts: kanji / vocabulary, listening, and grammar. The kanji section was really hard because there were kanji that I had never seen before in my life! I had to guess at what they meant. Luckily the test is multiple choice, so I could try to guess the right answer. The listening was okay, but I was so mad at other people in the test room because they kept shuffling their papers, and I couldn't always hear the tape. Finally, the grammar section was pure evil. I don't even want to talk about it. At the end of the grammar section, I had five minutes to check over my answers, and I changed five of my answers. After the test, everyone told me that I shouldn't have changed my answers, because it is always best to trust your instincts and keep your first answer. Anyway, I'm going to find out in February if I passed or not. I hope I passed because if I passed I can study for the level three test next year (I wrote the level four test this year).

Anyhow, I'm glad the test is over because now I can concentrate on teaching my students English. Hmmmmm, what difficult homework can I create for them to do . . . .
